Greetings!
Thanks for visiting my web page
I am Jon Quinn and I live in Bradley, Illinois. Bradley is a community just outside of Kankakee, about 50 miles south of Chicago, not far west of the Indiana state line. Interstate 57 runs within sight of our house.
I was born (1952) and raised in and around Dayton, Ohio. I graduated from Beavercreek High School in 1971 and attended Florida College from 1971-1975. I was baptized
into Christ in 1971.
I have been married to Barbara (Barnes) since 1975 and we have three children; Melissa, Nathan and Emily. Our family has lived in Topeka, Kansas; Lowell, Indiana and Flint, Michigan before coming to Bradley in 1989.
Melissa is presently employed by Homestar Bank. Melissa enjoys drama and music, and is quite a singer, and especially enjoyed performing jazz when she was in school. She was in the National Honor Society. and All-state chorus. She is married to husband Gerald. They have two sons, Trenton and Elliot; and a daughter; LilyAnne Grace.
Nathan graduated from Florida College in Temple Terrace, Florida with a Bachelor's Degree in Biblical Studies. He has had opportunity to work with churches in Massachussetts and Florida. He presently is working with the Eastside Church of Christ in Lincoln, Nebraska. He enjoys playing trumpet.
Emily finished two years at Florida College. She was in chorus, and band. Her main instrument is the oboe, for which she made first chair in the IIlliois All-State orchestra two years in a row. She also plays piano and saxaphone, and, as you might have surmised, music is her major. She transferred to Arkansas State University on a full tuition scholarship for the oboe. She obtained her bachelors degree in oboe performance and is now doing her graduate work at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music where she recieved her Master's in 2008. She is married to husband Alex and they now reside in Arkansas.
Barbara and I, as the parents of these kids, are scratching our heads wondering where all this musical ability has come from.
I work with the Bradley Church of Christ. In addition to public preaching, I teach Bible classes at the building and in homes. We also have a Daily Bible Message where I prepare a new message from the Bible each day. Callers can hear this message at (815) 939-3600. We also publish "The Bradley Banner", a weekly teaching bulletin. The church has a webpage and we offer free Bible study opportunities to the public, including a Bible correspondence course and video Bible studies. Our place of assembly is located at 1505 E Broadway in Bradley. The webpage will have more information.
We meet on Sundays at 10:00 am for Bible study and at 10:50 am for singing, praying, observing the memorial supper of the Lord, giving and preaching.
We also assemble on Sunday evening at 7:30 pm to worship the Lord.
Additionally, we meet for Bible study on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 pm.
I am happy to be co-editor of Expository Files with Warren Berkley. I enjoy working and playing on the computer, even as you probably do since you are accessing this through your computer right now.
Life has both its good and its bad; but I have been blessed with far more good than bad; and even the bad has its purpose. God has been good to me; far better than I deserve. I am glad to be a Christian.
